It is time for me to see my ENT for another 3-month check-up. Boy, these months seem to be rolling around in a hurry! I see my doctor on Wednesday morning bright and early. I didn't start getting anxious about this visit till yesterday. Usually, I start in about a week ahead of time. I don't know if I'll ever get to the point of not being anxious at all. Anyway, I feel great - almost 2 years out from diagnosis. I just wish I could enjoy all these darn Christmas cookies I've been baking - sugary snacks burn my mouth. That's OK - I'm happy to be here to bake them for my kids. Will post Wednesday with results from the ENT visit.

To let you all know about a conversation we had a few weeks ago about my need for dental surgery and the threat of ORN. I spoke to the oral surgeons office today. They are waiting for an okay from my insurance company and making the arrangements for all of the needed dental equipment to be in the operating room. Tomorrow I have a meeting with the oral surgeon, dentist and my radiation oncologist (together) to discuss the procedure. I'll have a lot more information then and will post sometime tomorow afternoon. I had a check up with my hematology oncologist on Monday. Got the all clear form her. Said everything looks good. Actually gained a few pounds. For the first time in a long time I'm back to 200 pounds!

I had my 3-month check-up on Wednesday and everything is going well. Doc said he will see me in 3 months and we will do scans then. At that time I will be 2 years from diagnosis and hopefully go to 4-month intervals. I did lose 1 pound, but he wasn't too worried about that. Last time I had gained 6. Other than that, he said my skin, hair and color looked good - that I looked healthy. It's always such a relief to have a good check-up and have it behind me for a while. Now it's time to enjoy the holidays and here's wishing each and everyone of you here a Very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Thank you everyone for being here and sharing your experiences.

Keep those good reports coming. It always brightens my day when one of us has a good checkup - kind of like we all benefit from it somehow. Feels good. (I hope that doesn't sound too weird.) Its like having company when you really need some company. Have a great Christmas, Tom
