Yesterday I met with the Rad-Onc concerning re-radiation because of some very tiny margins from the surgery. It was really a relief to know that it is not possible in my case. The cancer is too diffuse and because of the virtual lack of response with the "lifetime" dose I had over the summer it would be too damaging for the remaining structures.
The surgery has pretty well peeled me back to basic structures with all superficial vessels gone, we don't want to blow up the internal ones.
So with my 1mm. margin at the base of the skull we basically sit back and wait for a)victory, or b) another recurrence with probable chemo.
It will be good to have some time when there is no assault on my body...except for the physio, but that always feels better when she's done!
In the meantime, I'll keep visiting the boards and drawing lots of good info and inspiration from all of you.
Fran

Fran, glad they're going to leave you alone for a bit. I know what you mean. It gets to the point that you just want them to quite picking at you. God bless and you are in my prayers nightly.

Grateful thanks to all of you who set such a positive example to the newbies like me.
There are a million things I have to rejoice in that are available to me right now..strong husband, working partners in faith, a healthy peaceful family who love each other.
So you can see the strong platform on which I will build my recovery. In case I sound too saint-like, I must confess that terror and self pity creep up on me like "Golum" in Lord of the Rings. But what I know about, I can pretty much deal with...I have warriors too!
Thanks again,
Fran
