Today was Marvins first day back to work. He is on light duty at least until the end of Sept. His RO doesn't want him around the factory fumes. So they have found a job for him in the office buildings until after he sees the doc end of sept. He did pretty good. But this is a much easier job then his normal mainteance job. He still working on his eating. Soup is the best but trying hard to get other items down. Still not much taste coming back. But he was realllllllly happy to at least get back to work.

That is good news mind has been back to work since June 9, 07 when his FML ran out. Works about 4 1/2 hours a day for the first 45 days. This past weekend was his first sat that he worked 1/2 a day. He would come home exhausted and the first several weeks would go right to bed after coming home. He works in a part store mixing Auto paint. They have been good about letting him come home earlier if he needed to. This has helped him to get back into a routine. My h. has only been able to taste choc when he has ate ice cream or his Ensure. He is on a peg tube and he probably won't have it removed until Dec. when he gets his dentures. Be patience with him it will be hard at times been there and its hard somedays since both of you want it to be like it was before the C. happened.

Great news! I'm happy for both Marvin and you.

Eating will continue to be a chore for him.

Check out billy's post on the General Board entitled "Food Ideas Please", for some ideas and suggestions so that soup does not become so boring for Marvin.

Also, check with the hospital nutritionist for some ideas and suggestions. Ask about vitamin suppliments etc. to make sure he is getting the proper fuel for his body and energy.
