Eileen
You can now get an open MRI, no coffin like apparatus... I dont know if it would be suitable for what you need but its worth an inquiry.
Good luck

Eileen,
The head & neck specialist ordered the CT scan as a follow-up. He then referred us to a medical oncologist because of the cyst on the pancreas, Bob's low iron count & a couple other issues. The medical oncologist referred us to a surgeon in the gastrointerology dept. Hope this helps!

Can't tell you how many times I repeated that mantra in my head that week. I was so worried & scared & to keep myself going I either prayed or repeated: "It Ain't Caner Til They Say It's Cancer." over & over again.

You can't imagine the surprised reactions from our families when we cheerfully said "Bob doesn't have a recurrence, he just needs another surgery!" We quickly learned to tone it down!
