4 months ago tomorrow, I was diagnosed, and began my personal journey to hell and back.

I got a phone call a little while ago from my mother; my Dad (78 yrs old) just came from the
Doctor's where he was told that he has lung cancer.

I'm about to lose my mind with this devastating news. I'm way too sick from radiotherapy to even THINK about going to see him, and I KNOW what he's going through emotionally. GAWD, I need some good news once in a while

Wayne, take a deep breath, shed some tears and keep on keeping on. It's the only thing you can do. Strive to get strong enough to go see them. I would venture a guess that your Dad is more philosophical about this than you are [because of his age] It is not good news, but neither would a heart attack or stroke be. When we live long enough for our parents to "be Old", it comes with the territory. Stay strong. Amy

Wayne,

Hang in there. Try not to panic. My Mother (86 now) was diagnosed with Lung Cancer 2 years ago, and had 1/4 of lung removed.. She is still up and running. Devastating yes!!! Always doom, No!!.

Take care of yourself, and take it one day at a time. Prayer helps.. Send cards, letters...love to Dad. No guilt that you need to take care of yourself before you can go to him.

I am sure he will understand. Thinking of you.

You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Wayne,

I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. I was in a similar place a couple of years ago. It's almost beyond belief when you are faced with this news. I know it's not an easy time for you and your family. I wish you and your family all the best and strength while going through this difficult time. Please take care and feel free to drop me an email if I can be of any help.

Dave
