It is driving me crazy! It stings so bad. The surgeon finally took the dressing off a week ago but it's still looking kinda oozy. Shouldn't it be drying up and scabbing soon? It takes all the joy out of a nice hot shower. My surgery was March 18th.

Mine was done just over a year ago and it is still is bright red and gets very itchy at times. I was told to get some Vitamin E Oil and apply that to it. It helped heal it over much faster than when I wasn't using it. I still use that today on all my scars. David

Still itches but it is healing faster than I ever thought it would. I remember it sticking to the bed sheets, my pants, anything it came in contact with & ripping the new scab off & bleeding . Of course you know all that. Just reminiscing!! ah! Little did I know I would get new & different things to have fun with 3-4 weeks into radiation. Thats another story all together.
dx 2/11/04 scca bot T3 IU 2B MO poorly differentiated, margins ok, 3/16 modest, jaw split, over half of tongue removed, free flap from left forearm - finished chemo & rad treatment 5/20/04
