i have been diagnosed with large cell undifferentiated carcinoma stage 4. i had a small neck dissection by my ENT who thought that what i had was a calcification inside my salivary gland but upon opening my neck he realized that i had a tumor inside the gland. he removed the tumor and 7 lymph nodes. 4 out of 7 were positive for cancer also my margins were positive with vascular infiltration. I received 7 weeks of radiation and chemotheraphy with cysplatin. however there is not much information regarding my type of cancer or prognosis. Any body out there with the same or similar cancer. i am 33 years old and for what i understand it carries a very bad prognosis. i go to Sloane Kettering and they don't even know much about my type of cancer. i finish my treatments and they said that in 4 weeks from now they will do another scan. is that long of a wait normal. i am going insane. any information will be greatly appreciated.

Coguito,

Can't help you on that type of cancer but waitng 4 weeks post Tx is not long at all to do a scan. They waited almost 2 months for mine but, your right it seems forever. Unfortunately you'll get use to it so hang in there and share what info you learn with us.
