Hi everyone. My dad is having his plate that has been rejecting removed. He had his jaw (and tounge, neck nodees, muscle in shoulder) removed in August last year. He went through rad and chemo. He is off all meds-not even advil and doing unbelievbly well considering the hell he has gone through.He has a feeding tube, but tries to drink soup and I just got a juicer. Now he is over this bar and is getting it out. I don't think they are replacing it with anything. Has anyone had this? We are hoping since his jaw has got some scar tissue his chin won't cave in. He doesn't know what to expect, but knows the implant isn't working. You can see it, the skin is open around it. We'll see what happens. We think his surgery will be in March. Please any info would help. Thank you always,
