Does anyone know of a good or better lip balm. I have been using chap stick to try and keep my lips moist enough to heal, seems like it's taking forever. The top lip is fine but my lower lip is still blood encrusted and tender. Its hard to apply anything to it without damagaging it more. Please help? Dan

Hi Dan......My husband(also named Dan) had stage 4 tonsil cancer, it was inside the tonsil into three nodes.
He used vaseline, no pain and easy to apply, I also had him put on some neosporin at times.
His bottom lip healed in about 3 weeks.
Did you have your bottom lip cut into? I forget what it is called, My husband had the lip cut and jaw broke so they could get the tonsil out in one piece. Mandola something or another.
Good Luck and I am glad you are home!!

Hi Dan,
I was given Polytopic for my bottom lip and the incision under my chin and along the neck. It helped a lot.

Hi Dan,
Chapstick is a worthless product. My wife is an esthetician and gave me some Epicuren Lip Balm (and it's SPF 15 also) and it worked really well for me.
It does have some tea tree oil in it if that bothers you.

During the late radiation phase my lips were peeling constantly (daily even) and it worked really well then.

Hi Dan......Next time you go to your pharmacy to pick up meds, ask the pharmacist for a product called Aquaphore for your lips. I used this by the bucket fulls during treatment and still use it today. Good Luck. Sincerely, Donna
