I got tired of waiting for the Doctor to call me today so I him. His nurse called me back to tell me the pet scan revealed two areas of concern. She said that the left tonsil and a lymph node in the left side of my neck were lit up on the pet scan. I am scheduled for the removal of the tonsil w/biobsy on thursday. I hope it is benine but wonder about it since they found the lymph node also. Please give me some feedback. I am going a little nuts

SAM,

Please do not go nuts yet...

You will learn a lot here so do some reading.

You are right about waiting for Dr. to call. I do the same and call them when I think the time is up.

First of all it is not cancer until they say it is.. So wait for Biopsy to be done first. OK?

Learn about the different stages will help you as well. So take a deep breath for now.. do not borrow trouble until it is necessary. OK?

We are here for you with all your questions and concerns. So keep asking. OK?

Take care,
Diane

Sam,

Take a deep breath. Nothing is for sure until you get the results of the biopsy. In the mean time read and educate yourself as best you can, if it's positive things can quickly get overwhelming, so you

Hey Sam

The lymph node could just be reacting to whatever is going on in the tonsil.

Hang in there, it's not cancer until they say it's cancer....
