OP gls173 Member Joined: Jun 2004 Posts: 11 Florida	I'm eight months post radiation treatment and have developed an open sore on my lower lip...it's been a couple of weeks and isn't getting any better. Anybody else ever have that problem?

It could be many things but knowing for sure can stop the anxiety. Please have your doc check it out and let us know what you find out. Just so you don't worry, from what I have read and from my own experience (disscussions with my doctor) it would be unlikely that your tonsil cancer would show up on your lip. You may be having a problem with low salivia and abrasion with your teeth. I have the same problem with my tongue and a couple of sharp edges on my teeth. It is worse when I have been talking alot. Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
