I have all my teeth on the right side on the bottom but my gums seem like they are not as healthy as they were before radiation. They are even a different color then my top gums are. I have all my teeth on the top. It seems like the gums are redder and pulling away from the teeth. Anyone else had this happen? They also bleed some when I brush them. Minnie

I kept all of my teeth. I still use a baby tooth brush and Biotene. I also use a WaterPik. You can cause gum recession just with your tongue pressing or "playing with" the gums. They should not be bleeding. That's usually a sign or periodontal disease (or did you cut yourself flossing?). See your dentist.

Ask your doctor/dentist about it, but I remember reading that some women experience gum bleeding (when flossing) and tenderness due to PMS. michelle

Get thee to a dentist. Especially after radiation oral health is paramount. I have my teeth cleaned every 3 months. Bleeding from the gums is not normal and might be able to be taken care of with a good teeth cleaning and maintainence. (I used to sell dental products and still had 14 teeth pulled for radiation) I now practice what I preach.
I'd have it checked out and get on a regular schedule.

Well - guess I should have read further down before my answer. Didn't realize you were going through all that dental work. Bleeding might not seem not shocking with going through all that your other post says.
Did you ask the docs about it?

It has already stopped bleeding as easily just since I posted about it. I remember Brian answering one of my posts and telling me to be prepared mentally for the tons of things that would be in my mouth after radiation that would scare me and he was so right. Seems that each week I find something new to worry on! Take care, Minnie
