Hi everyone. I am new to the board and just had a question.

One year ago when I went in for my dentist/cleaning appt, my dentist had spoted a "freckle" on my palate (mid-line). He measured it and said it was probably nothing but we will note it and see if any changes occur.

Today I went in for my 6 month dentist/cleaning appt and my dentist saw a change in size of the "freckle" and referred me to an oral surgon for a biopsy. My biopsy is sceduled for Aug 19th.

My question is... if there was anyone here with simular symptions or if anyone has any knowledge as to if this is what cancer can look like? I am not asking for a diagnosis but just a little something to either ease my nerves or prepare me for the 19th.

Here is some more info about me:
Age 32
smoker (6-7 cigs per day--
in process of trying to quit)
Never had a cavity or any oral diseases
or complications
The spot is: greyish/brown
about 1/4 in long
about 1/8 in wide
directly in the middle

Thanks in advance for any info! smile

Candee, the bio's aren't too bad. I had three that were declared pre-cancer and I just kept on smoking. Well, the fourth one was cancer. Please, please, please try to quit smoking. You can use a patch and gum or just one alone. I would think if you are only smoking 6-7 cigs a day the gum should work for you. Take care and keep us posted. Anne.
