Hi All,

It is not vanity that brings me to post this but instead to ask all of you to get your picture up in the profile section. If you click on my name you will see my profile, and my newly posted picture (or at least somebodies picture I want you to think is me wink )

You have to get a digital picture of yourself and contact your Internet Service Provider to get it made available as a URL. OCF does not provide the space for that on it's servers. A couple of hints the picture should be fairly small and less than around 50kb in size.

I wouldn't mind seeing all of you folks out there even if you have a face for radio! laugh

Mark, nice picture, I need to get one up of Dan, he doesn't like how he looks in pictures. He has a right radical neck dissection, and I forget the name but he has a scar from his lip over to his neck, they broke his mandible ? to get to the tumor....
I like seeing a face attatched to a name!!!
Have a good day Mark.

Ha! I had my wife take about 15 shots before I got that one, no matter how many she took, I didn't look like Mel Gibson. I guess I'll get used to it! smile

OK so I'm not Mel, (he is older than me anyway)

Thank you all for the kind words!

I will make myself avaliable to help get your own picture up if you want just ask or e-mail me direct. Until we have our reunion, pictures will have to do.

By the way, that picture is "scar side up". (actually I was surprised how little it shows)

Hey, nice looking fella Mark....When I see my scars from my ear to under my chin and then across my collarbone, I wear them proudly now as it is 5 yrs cancer free this coming July....When I think of where I've been in this journey and how far I have come as hard as it is somedays, I thank the good Lord for every new day he gives me at 61 yrs of age. I think it has taught me alot about life and other people. Between looking like Herman Munster with staples, a nasal feed tube and a trach, I can now sit back and sort through what I lived through. I had a lot of good Dr. and hospital advice on what to eat and ways to eat it....The nasal tube became a "G" tube for quite a while due to radiation but I got through that too...It is wonderful to read so many notes in here of survivors and their great outlooks...Congrats to all...Flo

I can't believe how great you look! I'm still bald and scarred. Your picture gives me hope for a more normal looking future.

It's been 3 weeks from my radiation and I'm feeling better but still a lot of pain eating, hope that quites shortly. Still a little fatigued which I guess it cought up with me, I wasn't fatigued until the 5th week of treatment. I'll see if I can follow your instruction to get my picture up.

Sherrie, Judy, Carol, Minnie, Helen, Flo, Lynn, Mandi, and John! Thank you ALL!

Lynn, I didn't get chemo so I didn't loose any hair. For those early on in their recovery, our new pastor (base of tongue full radiation) is running marathon races 1 year out of treatment! There is some inspiration!!!!

John, good to hear from you.

P.S. I am not the first to have their picture up either Brian and Glenn (GRE1) and perhaps others can be seen too.

P.P.S. I was waiting to see if anyone noticed the picture in the backround of my photo. (not the tugboat either) It's me at age 11 holding a Smelt (fish from Lake Superior) It was published in the Duluth paper front page 1972. smile

I am reviving this thread because Brian has announced that OCF will help with posting pictures

QUOTE BRIAN: "By the way, if anyone wants to add a picture of themselves to their profile, just send a jpeg of it to [email protected] with a note and Chester can see that it is added to your profile. There is a way to do this yourself, but if you are not a computer savvy techno nut, it may seem a little complicated. I think I will ask Chester to post the instructions on how to do it the next opportunity he gets, but his time doesn't cost us much and if anyone wants help doing this, so don

Hey Mark - nice picture of the fish! Oh, and, of course, what a great picture of you! You look great and it's nice to put a name with a face. I take horrible pictures (and I'm not kidding) but if I come across or have a decent one taken, I'd be happy to post it. Thanks Brian and Chester for your offer of help in posting pictures. Nancy

Just send them as .jpeg files. If they need cropping etc. I can do that for you in Photoshop before sending them on to Chester. Please do not snail mail any real pictures to the foundation, they will get lost in the shuffle. It may take a week or more, as Chester is swamped with real full- price paying customers work, and I am doing my usual....feeling like a one-legged man in a butt kicking contest...but we'll get to them.

I am thinking actively of uploading my photo on the forum but since I am a computer idiot, I have to seek help from experts first. By the way, how do we know which member has already included their photo in the profile so that we can take a look?

I don't have any pictures "post-surgery" yet. I will get on that and get one posted, as it's really nice to put a face with the posts. Thanks for reviving this Mark!

Blessing and love,
