Joined: Nov 2003 Posts: 14 | My husband and I will traveling to Italy in April and are wondering if anyone knows if we can buy a liquid nutritional product while there. I called the manufacturer of Ensure today and all they could do is give me a phone number in Italy. We will take Ensure with us if we have to, but would like to buy it there if possible.
Husband with SCC base of tongue, 2 nodes involved. 7 weeks rad therapy, 2 cyles chemo completed 10/31/03.

Might want to try posting on a travel board like Lonely Planet, etc. They might be able to help, or look for maybe an expat web site with a BB you can post to. I find these types of board really helpful on the down and dirty of travel.
I live close to Hong Kong, Ensure is avaliable there, but haven't seen Jevity. Not near the range of flavors on Ensure that's available in U.S. though. Not that that helps your trip to Italy.
Hope you have a good time in Italy, one of these years I hope to get there myself.

Joined: Mar 2002 Posts: 4,912 Likes: 52 | I not long ago was on a speaking tour in Europe. There are a variety of liquid nutritional suppliments in every pharmacy, in every country I visited. Most with similar ingredients to Ensure etc. Just put some in your carry on for the transition to these places. Once there you will find what you are looking for. It will just be a brand you are unfamiliar with in a strange language label, but I guarantee you the phamacist will know what you are looking for. Liquid diets are not unique to the US and the need for them exists in every country.

Rob had his neck dissection last week as the final step in his treatment. He starts his evaluation for dentures later this month but we have no illusions about getting them before we leave in April. We will be attending his niece's wedding in Tuscany and are looking forward to our first vacation in over a year. What a journey this has been. Thanks all for your help. We will keep in touch. Cindy
