Hey Folks!! Heres my story..We have all lived through our own trials with the discovery that we have cancer. My story rates no more than any of yours.I just hope I can put a smile on someones face(God knows we could all use one).Ive always been into extreme sports.Im single..So I could indulge myself.Surf,Skii,Raft,Hanglide,Mt Bike,Ect.I grew up on the west coast and Hawaii..3&1/2 yrs ago I was Surfing alot on the oregon coast.I began to get killer earaches.I figured cold water in my ear was causing it.So I ignored it.(Isnt denial a wonderful thing??).They got worse and worse.(More denial).so I stopped surfing..Not much effect...But you know I told myself "Your OK"..This went on for a few months.finally I went to a clinic to see a doctor.I got a young Dr.gave me a check up and discovered a lump on the back of my tongue..I didnt think anything bad..So he set me up with an ENT specialist..Are you ready??....Dr Dan FEAR!!!Great I wasent worried but now I reall had somthing to "fear".So examination...Biopsy..Bang a ton of bricks Squamous Cell Cancer of the tongue !!!More scans ect.The course of my treatment.Mass radiation and Chemo..Ok part of this fun is getting a PEG tube(we all know and hate then). So across the office complex to see the surgeon..Are ya ready?? Dr.Mark DEATHRAGE!!!Oh great I went from fear to death in one hallway. Now a PEG is just a faucet to your stomach right??Dr.Death sends me to one of his associates..Are ya ready?Dr Cory FAWCETT...........Folks ya cant make this stuff up.So there I was I went from Fear to Death, got a PEG from Dr.Fawsett......The next day Im still shakeing my head..And Ive got an appointment with my Oncologist..Are Ya ready??? Dr Charles DOOLITTLE!!!!I almost walked in front of a bus,Now im talking with the animals...This is a real life true story

Ryno, I am in north central OR. Just saw your post and have to admit those are incredibly strange names. Laughter is good medicine. If you can laugh, you can fight. Sounds like you have that figured out. Thanks for the chuckle.

You have to realize that some of us are fighting dinosaur computers! LOL
It sounds like your sense of humor has helped save you during your recovery. I believe that is one of the best medicines around.
Congratulations!

Hey netteq tks for the reply..Im 38 now prognosis is good my tumor is compleatly gone.Last scan showed no new growth. As we all know the road back to health is a long one.Although my PEG is gone I cant swallow any thing chunky. So I blend all my food.Soups, Stews, smoothies.Hard to gain back the weight on a liquid diet. Also radiation killed my tastbuds.Smookey flavors come through good. Hams ,Bacon...As for smoothies citrus really burns my tongue and mouth..Tell Harry keep up the good work L8R Ryno

I laughed so hard it hurt, What's the chance you would get such great dr names. It makes you think "why would someone go into the field of medicine, with those names?" I am glad you are doing so well, we are just in the beginning of our fight. My husband starts radiation next week.
Im thankful for your humor, some days there isnt much to smile about!!!
