Does anyone know of any recent research or developments re tooth regeneration using different types of stem cells? My son's teeth are rapidly decaying and I've been trying to find out what's happening with the research in this area. Or how close we are to something like this being useful for Oral Cancer survivors? I found this abstract from the Iwate Medical University in Morioka, Japan:

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24550845
At the bottom of the abstract if you click on "Free PMC Article" there is a bit more info.
There is a much longer account of this research from "Frontiers in Physiology (Craniofacial Biology" here:
http://journal.frontiersin.org/Journal/10.3389/fphys.2014.0003/full
When I tried to access it again I got an error message but just googling the full title above will bring it up.

Another interesting article from a group of French scientists is about a tooth regeneration gel made from a natural chemical in our bodies and important to tooth regeneration.
Title: "Race to Market for the Ultimate Cavity Fighter: Tooth Regrowth Gels"

Then there is this one that caught my eye:
"New Solution for Tooth Decay: Just Grow a New Tooth:
http://inventorspot.com/articles/new_solution_tooth_decay_just_grow_new_tooth

It would be nice if there is something that would be useful here for Oral Cancer survivors with long term issues relating to decaying teeth. I've tried the OCF search boxes but could not find anything.

Sorry, I don't, but thanks for posting. Seems like potential treatments for cavities, common post radiation treatment in the mouth.
