I think it was Eckhart Tolle that said "You cannot change what you don't accept". It seems the first reaction most people have when something bad or unpleasant happens is "Oh, No!". But after the initial "Oh, No!" if we can accept the situation, we can be better able to figure out how to deal with it in positive ways. After all, how can you change something if you are still in the "Oh, No!" stage? For me, when my son was diagnosed with SCC, and after the initial shock, I went into fight mode and kept telling myself and my son that we would fight it with everything we had. And with the help of OCF and the great people here, we did! Tomorrow, Paul and I will be celebrating his 7th year of being cancer-free!

Neversmoke,

You need to add your own Signature Line so that readers don't have to go to the beginning of each Thread and learn about you.

Hi Ankur,

Sorry about your diagnosis,

I was also diagnose by the same cancer last month i got surgery done, It was very difficult for me also to know about the same but my Dr. was very sure that he can treat the same.
From where you are going to get surgery done ? Go to a good oncologist with ENT specialization. As I met many oncologist but they all said that I will face problem in speaking but the ENt specialist was very sure that I will be able to speak very soon and now I can speak normally.
Best of Luck
Regards
Naveen

Hello Ankur,

You are totally right - just be positive at all times and your soonest recovery is assured!

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and of course, have an excellent recovery after your surgery in January!

Max

Hi Neversmoke. This is my first post after surgery on Dec. 31, 2013. I was on the 12th floor of Vancouver General looking north over Granville Island, downtown, and the North Shore Mountains. Interesting fireworks from 10:00PM through to 5:00AM!

I had two biopsies, six months apart, before the second was confirmed as cancer. S#!t happens. Anyway welcome to the forum, sorry you are here, but if you have time, read everything in every post and the replies. The wisdom on here is encyclopedic.
