Wish I knew what to say. I'm newly diagnosed with oral cancer a type of sarcoma usually found in young people. I don't know all the terminology all of you use. They tell me my surgery will be extensive followed by a lot of radiation. I guess I should be grateful for the cleft palate I had as an infant, because the cancer was found when the timer ate away the weak part of my palate. My surgery is January 13 with radiation to follow and I feel alone and scared.

You'll get through it... There are quite a few people here with a similar cancer. And you're not along. Most of us have done the radiation thing - look up radiation here there's a lot of info available, just remember everyone reacts differently - there are a lot of scary stories, and some have an okay - time (don't get me wrong it's not fun but doable) most people fall in between the two... Welcome... And hugs to you

Hi
I had extensive surgery too on my hard palate and I now have a obturator. You will get through it and the radiation too! It's all a bit over whelming in the beginning but it is doable and you will find your way through any time you need to talk or ask a question we are here xx
