Welcome 12kels,

Go to "Inroduce yourself" and make a post about yourself, diagnosis, treatment or any questions you have, and then set up your signature, which is your cancer pedigree that will show at the bottom of your posts that can be set up under, "My Stuff", so others may assist you or you assisting them. It's easy, and if I can do it, anyone can. ChristineB, an OCF volunteer, is more than helpful. Good luck.

Hello people Im Rich. On Aug 19th I had surgery to remove my soft palate because of pre-cancerous papillomas. SCC was found, my soft palate was not removed. the course of treatment is now chemo/radition. review of my CT shows 1 node that's slightly enlarged. The surgeon says its at the borderline that it could be a problem. on the left side of my neck, just above the clavicle I feel a dull soreness almost constantly(or pressure) in an area about 1 Inch IN Dia.Im a little concerned.... IM stage 1

Hopefully they will radiate your neck as well. That should take care if the node. Welcome!

Welcome Rich. I have replied to your private message (PM). Look for the tiny flashing envelope next to the My Stuff tab. Its up towards the middle near the top of the page. If you click on that and check out the link in the PM, you will soon be a pro at navigating the forums.

You will now gain lots of info and support by finding the OCF forum. We will help you in the upcoming months.

Best wishes with everything!

Hello Rich:
We joined the forum on the same day, so I'm as new to this as you are. My oral cancer is left tonsil, SCC with HPV, surgery complete (I hope) and awaiting start of rad/chemo.

Being completely new, I have no great knowledge to impart to you. But I am a travelling this road with you.

Good luck with your journey

05/14 taste the same, dry sinuses, irrigation helps.
01/15 food taste about 60% returned, dry sinuses are worse in winter.
12/20 no more sinus problems, taste pretty good

Hey n74tg, I just noticed that you're an aerobatic pilot. Please be very attentive to signs of neuropathy in your hearing, (I've lost some hearing with every course of Chemo Tx, so you equilibrium is at risk as well.

A word to the wise. Alert your MO at the first suspicion!

Bart

3/14/2014 given 2 weeks, 3 maybe. All the veins in my head are slowly leakinging due to Ehlers Danlos syndrome. lucky thing is that my spinal fluid leaking out my nose is slowing the build up of pressure in my huge, huge head. you would not believe.
