Hey Ranger, welcome, sorry life has taken this turn and glad you found us.

Many here have been in the same boat, bursting with good health and then brought up short by cancer (me too). I'm taking heart from the folks here who have found their way back to wonderful life, no matter what cancer threw at them.

Are you in treatment?

Ranger,

hi Davidcpa, looks like we are twins , same age same cancer, i start treament sept9, need chemo 3 times a week and radiation 5 times a week for 7 weeks unless the chemo damges my hearing then i go to really expensive chemo 40,000.00 for 8 doses but may damage my kidneys what joy! I used to ride my bike too was riding about 100 miles aweek too couple years ago I rode 100 miles in one day, im 58 dont smoke or drink (quit 13 yrs ago)havnt been in a hospital for about 50 years now thats all i will do and the more i read about this the harder it is to be super positive , its like a dark cloud that just hangs over me . i tell my co-workers dont worry about me im going to beat this , but inside lots of doubts

If you PM me and give me your telephone number I'll call you.

For us to be twins then you must be GOOD lookin! lol

Your chemo is most likely Cisplatin and it did cause me permanent hearing loss so if you "hear" ANYTHING weird while on the chemo IMMEDIATELY tell your docs. They describe it as "ringing" but to me it was more like a very faint hiss and it wasn't constant.
