Anyone have this type of radiation for 4-5 days? What was your experience like?
I am not thrilled about going to the hospital for this (in fact I am very stressed). But I like that it would be over in about 5 days.

Unfortunately I cant think of anyone who has done that who is currently active on the forum. Try putting brachytherapy in the search bar (upper left corner of the page) and you will pull up the many threads on this subject.

There was another poster, Cindy721, who had Brachytherapy, with the same doctor as mine, in NYC, but I don't see her in the forum anymore. They are similar in some ways, IORT needs the tumor resected, possibly graft or flap, and is a single high dose, usually requiring additional EBRT, opposed to brachytherapy, that may or may not need resection, graft, flap, additional EBRT, and encompasses 4 days. There are several types brachytherapy like with seeds in permanently. Out of the two, IORT has better control rates. Both are good in patients that had prior radiation, and radiation is delivered directly into or on the tumor area.
