After getting hold of the scan results I read that there was an uptake in the piraform sinus of 4.72 and prior to treatment this area was 2.6. When I questioned these numbers I was told it was the result of inflamation (which I understand). My question I am trying to get answered "is thickening in the neck" the same as inflamation or have we been told different things. | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) | "OCF Canuck" Patient Advocate (old timer, 2000 posts) Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 5,260 Likes: 3 | I think it can be numerous things.. The person who told you information was giving you an opinion. What they though it was. Inflammation is normal of course, possibly related to radiation damage - how long ago was treatment? Take care.
