Well, so far so good. No evidence of tumor at this point. Going for follow up scans in a few weeks. God stands with me and I am not afraid.

However... I have developed lymphedema under my chin. Super unattractive and it makes sleeping hard because as the fluid builds up it starts to affect my airway. Anyone experiencing similar and what do you do to cope with it? Has anyone had it and then it heal over time?

Hi Hank,

My husband Ron had it pretty bad right after he finished his treatments. It looked like he had a turkey neck. He went in for lymphatic drainage messages and it helped a lot! Over time it will get better.

Good luck!

Shelley

Yup. that's what I am doing too... lymphatic massage helps build new pathways so the fluid will drain, stimulates blood flow, and will help overall with potential fibrosis. good luck on your scan... I have one tomorrow - which always makes me nervous! ;oP

Hank, I had this issue for about a year after treatment. Mine eventually went away. I was riding a motorcycle in those days and where the helmet's chin strap cut under my chin used to leave a groove that took hours to go away. I too had the airway issues at night but sleeping on my side helped.
