I've only been getting treated for a week, but my entire mouth is bright red and I have terrible pain when brushing my teeth. I know we have to brush them a lot during therapy, but it hurts so much that I cry now when I have to do it.
Anyone have suggestions for how to lessen the pain when brushing? I've been using my baking soda rinse, use a soft bristle brush, and use plain Colgate toothpaste.
Help...

Swish it around in yoru mouth for a few seconds and then spit it out. Wait about a minute until it numbs your mouth then brush your teeth. A water pic is a very good tool for keeping your mouth clean. I use warmish water with a baking soda mouthwash in it. (no alcohol) and it`s awesome. Look up the manuka honey. it may help with your mouth. this is early in the game so you must be very sensitive. magic mouthwash is great to have on hand. Good luck. hope it goes quickly

They are having me put wet gauze in my mouth over my teeth during treatments. Not sure what's going on with me, but they did give me a prescription for the magic mouthwash... Here's hoping it helps!!

Hopefully it helps...the magic mouthwash tastes like crap, but it will numb you. take care!
