I hope everyone is doing well. Chaz has been having ear ache on the opposite side of his original cancer. I am not sure the extent to which his left tonsil was involved in the original radiation site - quite a bit I believe. Just wondering whether anyone else has experienced any changes on the other side of their head quite a while after radiotherapy? He is 2.5 years out.

Thanks

Cathy

Cathy, I'm just about 2 years out and my opposite ear is still troubled - stuffed up, occasionally aching, never clears properly with altitude changes, etc. If it persists I'd suggest Chaz see his ENT. Good luck!

Thanks so much David. As it happens, he has a scan on Weds, I just hadn't heard of anyone else with contralateral ear issues and wondered whether it was possible. I will sleep better for a few nights anyway. Thank you! Hope yours clears up.

Best

Hi Cathy, I'm just over one-year post treatment, did have radiation to both sides, although more on my right, and do now have neck muscle cramping on both sides to some degree. Most of my side-effects are fading away nicely at last (of course we'll never be quite the way we were), but it would not surprise me to have some lasting nerve and/or scar tissue issues in the jaw/ear area on both sides from your description of his treatment. Good luck and keep us posted.
