Hi all, I've been in the hospital since Sunday with an obstruction in my small intestine where it meets my colon. I haven't been able to eat anything - I'M HUNGRY. Today they had me try clear liquids but when I did I started having the abdominal pains again. When they were doing x-rays on my stomach, they also noticed a spot on my lungs and did a cat scan on my lungs which I haven't heard back the results. Of course, I've decided the cancer has spread over my entire body. Is this possible only one year out of treatment???

A CT scan will pick up pnuemonia, old or new as well as many other conditions not just cancer. Never get too excited about scans my dear.

Besides SCC 8 years ago I have had Crohn's disease for 50 years, right in that spot. You need a good GI doc who can do a colonoscopy all the way to that spot. They look & biopsy. Since you are essentially fasting, prep would be nill.
It could be resectioned. Good luck!

Oh they gave me pain killers as soon as the pain started again but then the GI doctor came in and said he does want to do a colonoscopy but he told me I still have to drink that gallon of crap. I just had a colonoscopy in September. They are trying to do everything short of surgery to get it out, but so far no luck. I don't think I can drink that stuff unless I'm completely doped up all day long.

Barbara, Im so sorry to hear you are in the hospital. I hope you get better and get to go home soon. Dont panic about what they tell you about the testd. I have a tiny spot on my lung too, it is very common. My spot has been there for a year and it is unchanged. Better they they know its there so it can be watched. Feel better smile

Well, the doctor must think mine is cancer because he has ordered a biopsy for me today. So I am still in the hospital and will probably know quickly the outcome of the biopsy. I will let you know.

Thank you Suez. Biopsy is put off a day now because I am drinking the "go lightly" delicious drink so they can look at what is going on where my small bowel was obstructed. I should be able to finish the gallon by tomorrow and then I will have a colonoscopy and maybe I'll know something about that.

Man, I've been here since Sunday and I don't have any answers, just more findings. Now I'm just hoping they don't find anything else wrong - lol.

I am praying for a negative biopsy. Im so sorry you are hospitalized and have these worries on top of it. You know the saying, "its NOT cancer til they say it is." Please try to keep you mind busy so you dont worry so much. Be well.
