I'm glad you decided to "learn your lesson". :-) I sure hope the second biopsy comes back negative, too. But whatever the outcome, you are in the right place for some good advice and compassionate help. Let us know what happens.

Hope we get some info by tomorrow. I think it is cancer, if it was not the receptionist would have just told us when we called, rather than make us wait to speak to the doctor. If positive I have to get lympnode removed. This is the worst feeling

You don't know for sure and there could be lots of reasons for the wait to hear about it. My son had to wait almost 2 weeks for the results on a CT scan and it turned out to be good news. Call the office and tell them how stressful it is or have someone call and impress them with what the wait is doing to you. I'm still hoping for the good news for you.

Not sure about your Dx but even if a node is positive you don't necessarily have to have the node taken out or worse a Neck Dissection. Many of us, including myself, had positive nodes and already had to have either radiation or concurrent chemo/rad and surgery was not deemed necessary.

It's not fully cancer. My doc says to wait six weeks instead of wilding away my tongue. Perhaps it may not turn in to invasive cancer??

As you are new to this site, please take the time to fill out your signature. Please notice how the rest of us have done so with at least stage, type of cancer and what you've had done so far as the more information we have the more we can help.
As a reader of these forums for over 2 years and a poster for almost 2 years I've noticed certain trends. One of the trends is with Squamus Cell tongue cancers...they can be aggressive and have a tendancy to recurr. I don't share this to scare you, but to share with you the insight I've gained from following these forums.
Cancer should immediately have your respect...it should get your attention. Now I don't believe anyone deserves to get cancer, let me say that first before I say what others are too polite to say. Stop f*ckin smoking. You've been diagnosed with a cancer that will lead to a horrible painful death. Tongue cancers have a habit of coming back multiple times, if it doesn't kill you it can horribly disfigure you and severely affect your quality of life by taking away your abilities to eat and speak among other things. Give yourself the best chance of not getting a recurrance and give up the cigarettes and alcohol as well if that's another vice.
There are several products out there to help you stop, Nicorette, Patches...the new electronic cigarettes that deliver nicotene through water vapor in doses that allow you to ween off of it altogether. My mom and my brother both used the last route to quit smoking.
Good luck
Eric

It doesn't always turn into cancer but it can so just keep having it checked as many times as your docs advise.
