Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,082 | My scars from both the neck and jaw surgery have all healed up very nicely and are much less prominent than 18 months ago. Suddenly I had pain at the intersection of two scars, put some cream on the skin and now there is a purple blotch. It looks like a bruise or broken blood vessel.
Anybody else experience this? Could it be from forgetting to put suntan lotion on my neck on a day outing this week?
I more curious than anything as the pain only lasted one day.

Joined: Mar 2008 Posts: 3,082 | Well Doctor Google" says its "Actinic Purpura" and indeed related to sun exposure. No dangerous or a sign of anything dire. Whew! Still, I am interested to see if anyone has had this. Guess I can never skip sunscreen now
