Kelly, I'm in Detroit, going to Michigan for treatment. It's about 40 miles. I'm thinking we'll end up spending three weeks at a hotel or med assist residence over there near the end of treatment. Ann Arbor actually is closer to my wife's job than our apartment downtown.
Good news today: It is HPV-positive. I never imagined being happy about having a sexually transmitted disease. But that's more reason for hope and motivation. Just finished some of the amazingly good homemade peach ice cream my wife made.
Need tonsillectomy to finish healing so I can get some red-meat protein in me.
I'm going to have dental care and fake spit questions. Where do I post those?

Randy, Stage 3 tonsil SCC, node involvement, HPV-positive. 7 sessions of Taxol-Carboplatin, 35 rads finished 9/8/10. Post-TX PET and CT 12/1 showed "no metabolic evidence of residual or recurrent disease." Yay!

Randy, I love your attitude. With a positive frame of mind like that you're going to get through it all beautifully. No question, it's a tough road. But you sound like a strong guy with a great support system.

Welcome to the club, unfortunately... but you couldn't be in a better place than here at OCF. Keep us posted and ask any questions that come up, no matter how silly or trivial they seem!
