Clark started taking gabapentin capsules about a week ago for control of his facial pain. For 3 days he took one capsule at night. The next three days he took one at noon and one at night. Today, he is supposed add one in the morning, gradually building up to 2 capsules 3 times a day. Last night, he experienced vision changes that scared him, like looking through a piece of waxed paper. It cleared up within minutes. Plus dry mouth and he slept a lot yesterday, much more than usual. We're going over to talk to the pharmacist to get her take on this.

Anybody experience these symptoms and did they resolve? Or is this a sign of toxicity? Your input is appreciated.

Thanks.
Anita

Ive been taking liquid neurontin for 10 months and have not had any problems. It greatly helps my jaw pain. It seems to target the muscles near my jaw that ache. My doseage of the liquid has been 6ml 2x per day for the past 6 months. It had been 4x per day but Ive cut it back and it works fine.

Talking o the pharmacist is a very good idea. Hope Clark feels better soon.

The pharmacist was very helpful. She told Clark to stop the gabapentin. She thinks that the dose may need to be decreased or change the med to something else, like Lyrica. So tomorrow we will call the Dr. and go from there.

Pharmacists are a wonderful resource. They really know their stuff!
