Hey forum buddies, I just want to say thank you for kicking me in my rear. I was in my mood that I did not care what happened to me. I am much better now. I have actually been able to get some nutrients in my system today and feel a whole lot better. Not near as much as I should, but I am getting there. I have made it a goal of mine to at least get up to 1500 calories and then work from there. If it wasn't for many of you I do not think I would have got out of my little funk. I did get a break today and tomorrow cause of the swelling of my uvula. The RO was concerned that it would only get worse and block off my airway. He is going to check it again on Wednesday to make sure the swelling has gone down. Leave it to me to go to the extreme on things. I am very good at that. My parents are here until Wednesday and they have been a great help with the kids and have also helped me get out of my funk. We are doing Christmas with them tomorrow afternoon. My brother and grandpa are coming up to. I am excited to get to see them as i was afraid I was not going to be able to, but my Grandpa was chomping at the bit to come see me for Christmas. SOrry it was so long, but my spirits are better, and I believe that I am going to make it now. You guys are awesome.

Glad to hear your second wind's kicked in.
I feel for you on the uvula front - tonsillectomy end of Oct. - uvula swelling was horrible for me - hope yours goes down soon. Sounds like a great Christmas is coming your way - good.

Angelia, if the truth is known, we all have our real down days and then something winds a spring inside out heads and bodies and we get the determination back to go another 15 rounds and win. Merry Christmas

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.
--- Passed away 5/14/14, will be greatly missed by everyone here

Angelia, you are allowed to have bad days. We all do. The guys here have gotten me through many a bad moment and for that I am truly grateful. Just remember you are never alone. Whatever you are going through or feeling, you can pretty much bet someone here has gone through or felt the same. I'm so glad you are feeling better and even happier for you that your family are there with you. Enjoy your christmas.

Angelia, I am over the border in FS ark. I know the snow hit OK hard. Hope your family is ok for it. My wife/caregiver is 66 years old and it is the first Christmas she has had with snow. I told her living in Virginia Beach wasn't good for her! LOL We only got 5" so we are good. Best wishes to you and yours.

Bob,
Thanks for checking on me. We are good, but were snowed in for a few days. I loved the snow and it was a welcome Christmas present. I had been wanting a white Christmas now for years and I finally got one. This was a first for my little boys and they loved playing out in the snow with their daddy. We came down to Tulsa tonight so that we would a shorter drive tomorrow morning for treatment. There sure is a lot of snow out there especially for OK as we ar enot used to this much snow and people have now idea how to drive in it.
