Hello everyone,
Thanks for all your input about getting/not getting a PEG. After thinking it over, I decided it was definately the right thing to do for me.
I had it done 2 days ago and spent a day and a 1/2 in the hospital following the procedure.
There was a lot of pain for me. I had to be on Morphine for awhile.

Today I am coughing a bit for some reason and it does not feel very good!!!! I will be fine though.

Again, thanks to all for your advise, especially Petey.

Rob had to have his peg loosened because they had fastened it too tight and it was causing him pain.Dont be in pain too long without checking it out cos it is a very easy correction.

You will be so thankful you have it. I was also in a good amount of pain afterwards-especially laughing or coughing. The dr said it could've been too tight. I decided to leave it tho cuz I knew I'd lose weight, which I did & I was glad I had left it. I cannot tell you how glad you are going to be to have that.

SCC-tongueT3N0M0- IMRT 35times-1/07-3/07; along with one cycle of Cisplat & one cycle of Carboplat; weekly erbitux.finished all tx.3/07-supposedly gone. Recurrence 6/07. Age 31-non-smoker/social drinker. Devastated it's back.

You did the right thing! Wished we would of done it much sooner, I think we would of saved ourselves a lot of grief. We are almost 6 wks out from our Rad treatments and ready to start our second rounds of chemo on Monday. So I feel so much better knowing he won't be dehydrated this time around. I am thinking we will have the peg in to aleast the end of Aug. and we got it April 4th. Good luck and God bless.
