Charm,
My husband appreciated my new word "frack." I told himt hat I was going to use that word from now on. He was all for is. He said that is from Battlestar Gallatica, and I can use it anytime I want to. I have been calling all the stuff a "Sh&^ sandwich" Now i am going to call it a "Fracken sandwich". smile

So THAT'S what it means!
I intereviewed Dirk Benedict in the early 1990s. He visited local schools to deliver a "stay in school & study" message.

BSG didn't stay in my memory bank. Call me frackin' nuts, but I thought the show was cheesy. Still, I now have a new word to use.

The original BSG was beyond cheesy. It was "Bonanza" goes to the Stars. It didn't use Frack. Interestingly enough, Dirk Benedick's character in the original BSG, Starbuck, was played by a woman in the BSG we are talking about. I have to admit I liked Dirk better as Face in the A Team then in the old BSG. Especially after he gave bitter interviews castigating the gender switch of his old BSG character and suggested her name should be StarDoe.

Hi, Charm -
So we *are* talking different shows ! I didn't want to offend all you BSG fans, but it was awful. I don't recall the female Starbuck, & there's not enough hours in the week to catch up on something I wasn't interested in to begin with(& I love scifi). So, I'll just be happy with the slang expressions.

It's like comparing a student recital to a Kennedy Center performance talking about the original and re-imagined BSG.
No time excuses here. Since you and others may not have scrolled back one page to GinnyM's excellent utube link on the new BSG, I am bumping it up new BSG It's under 9 minutes and covers all but the last season.

hell the last episode was unbelievable, it was the perfect end to amazingly complex characters. Cerebral, philosophical, theological. It was some of the best ideas converted into a TV show ever. A clip that misses the portrayal of the essence of humankind is not going to convey the brilliant writing of this staff. Clearly the comments of an obsessed, bordering on stalker fan.

I use to watch BSG as a young kid! I forgot about all those shows--the cheesy ones! BSG, A-Team, Knight Rider, Fall Guy, Mork and Mindy--remember when they hatched their baby!! Jonathon Winters as the child! I still can't believe that show was a spin off from Happy Days--well--so was Joni and Chachi. Funny though, when I see reruns of Miami Vice that show looks cheesy too and I thought was a great show back in the day.
