Over the past few years I have learned to come here to share my pain. Jim was struggling from a recurrence of oral cancer so it seemed fitting to lean on y'all for a moment. Jim's journey began at least 4 years ago and never was really anything but a struggle. Even his PEG got infected and required surgery. He had developed mets along the lining of his chest but never quite in his lungs. His lungs filled with fluid once about a year ago and they were sure it was the end but it turned out to be just an infection. He went into the hospital a few weeks ago. I know nothing beyond that.
Raise a glass to Jim tonight, send nothing but the warmest thoughts (and prayers) to his wonderful wife, Pat. Jim was truly a great guy and I just hate this horrible disease.

I am so sorry to hear the passing of your friend.
I know how you feel. I lost a dear friend a while back of cancer. We talked about everything we could before she left. She was very upset that after all she had worked for she was going to die. I told her I understood. It was very hard to go through. I loved her dearly.

Some how I hit the wrong button. SORRY.
It is hard to say good-by to our friends. We want them there always. I still talk to my dear friend. She said that she would be forgotten. Well, she is wrong! I do not forget my friends, if they are here or have left before me.
So here is to your friend and to you for being a great friend. Take care, Diane

Tell his family we are all thinking about them and wish them well and we are sorry for their loss. Let us all hope his doctors learned something to benefit others yet to come.

Then I saw Pat's name. He was such a wonderful man, always took the time to talk with me when I needed it. A special prayer will be said in my home tonight. Thanks for sharing this. Minnie
