It has been 30+ days since I finished rad tx. I am finally able to eat soups, gravy laden meats, veggies, pudding, ice cream....you get the picture. For the last few days while eating, I have little bumps pop up in my mouth. It doesn't matter if the food is hot or cold. They usually go away with an hour but it feels like I have food stuck to my gums or the roof of my mouth. These bumps are localized to the right side which was the main target of my treatments. Has anyone had this problem or heard of this being an issue?

Partial glossectomy April 09, no carcinoma present

My mouth feels like there are bumps or lumps in it, but when I feel I find nothing. Might find a little bit of food stuck in a man made hole in that tongue tho. LOL

Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Thanks Jim,
I guess I am the lone person that has experienced this phenomenon. I thought for sure some of the old timers on here had some knowledge of this. I will ask my RO when I see him next week. Stay tuned for info on the infamous bumps. And yes I have to check the man made hole for food too. LOL

If they look like white little blisters that are filled with liquid I have a likely explanation. These can be minor salivary glands that are trying to do their job and do not have the correct plumbing yet. You are getting them when you eat and afterwards they disappear.
I had them too and it concerned me as well. As always, talk to your physicians.

Best

M
