My Radiation Oncologist examined my tongue and said he did not think there was any cancer. Moreover, he had convened the Tumor Board to review all my PetScans and this MRI just yesterday and it was also their consensus that the MRI finding was due to damage from the extra radiation. While I won't get final confirmation until next Wednesday when I see the ENT who does a more thorough probing exam of my tongue, I am greatly relieved as this RO always tends to be pessimistic (or realistic as he says). He had us laughing when he told us:
"If radiologists were gardeners, then their favorite plant would be the hedge."
So it will be a good weekend Special thanks to those of my OCF family who posted their good wishes and reassurances to my Limbo thread. It was very comforting and gratefully received.
