Thank You for sharing Karen.
So sorry to hear about your mom. It's nice of you to want to help others. This film critic reaches a lot of people. Maybe Brian Hill or Davidcpa could get him to help spread the word. He definitely reaches a lot of people. And he knows a lot of "movers and shakers". It is a good survivor story, and he has a sense of humor. Davidcpa, here is the first step to that "talk show guest" you were hoping for. And I'll quote you."Yeah, Brian, I know....Good Luck. laugh

Petey,

I don't think we, he & I, have to much in common re DX & TX. Find me a celebrity like me and I'll be all over them.

While his oral cancer is different than some of ours, he has a voice that is out there and can bring attention to the disease and the situation of late diagnosis, which needs all the spokespeople it can get. I think that he deserves a few letters from as many of us as possible speaking of OCF and public awareness. His voice is stronger than any of ours.

Being a Chicagoan the Roger Ebert story was a big news item here today.

I was just going to post the link to the story when I saw that Karenmm had alerady done so. Thanks, Karen, and my sympathy to you and your family.

I sent an e-mail to Mr. Ebert through the Chicago Sun Times link above, commending him on his decision to bravely face the public today. I also praised this forum and the OCF. I encourage everyone to do the same.

Sue

All I can say is, Roger, you get "two thumbs up!"

Brian, I agree about writing to Roger Ebert. Do you have any idea how we might do that?

I agree that through his newspaper is the best way to contact him. I don't know of any other means. I'm sure that he gets plenty of mail/emails there.

For anyone who has the time to write. You Must follow (read) the rules. No attatchments. Robert Eberts editor is Jim Emerson. It may be a little tricky to get to him in a "one on one" E-mail. Good Luck!

Ebert direct email is below. Please be polite, supportive of his situation and choices, and articulate how much this disease needs a highly visible spokesperson like him. That OCF is out here, and it will help him channel his strengths to do positive in his realm of influence if he would work with us.

Roger Ebert
