I am very sorry for your loss. I do remember Vickie, I told her about HBO treatments. She was a newer member who went by Vickie 53. I remember your posting about your life together. Please try to find some comfort in knowing she is at peace and not in pain anymore. I will say a prayer tonight for you.

Your post about how much you loved her and all the things you enjoyed together touched my heart. Im sure she knows how much you cared and is watching over you. Try to concentrate on the good times you had together.

Joined: Jun 2007 Posts: 5,260 | Glenn, you will have Vickie in your heart forever and all of the good memories of the times the 2 of you shared. I really feel sorry for her passing and leaving you. The lord must have thought she suffered enough and took her to him.
Since posting this. UPMC, Pittsburgh, Oct 2011 until Jan. I averaged about 2 to 3 surgeries a week there. w Can't have jaw made as bone is deteroriating steaily that is left in jaw. Mersa is to blame. Feeding tube . Had trach for 4mos. Got it out April.

Age 58 at Dx, HPV16+ SCC, Stage IV BOT+2 nodes, non smoker, casual drinker, exercise nut, Cisplatin x 3 & concurrent IMRT x 35,(70 Gy), no surgery, no Peg, Tx at Moffitt over Aug 06. Jun 07, back to riding my bike 100 miles a wk. Now doing 12 Spin classes and 60 outdoor miles per wk. Nov 13 completed Hilly Century ride for Cancer, 104 miles, 1st Place in my age group. Apr 2014 & 15, Spun for 9 straight hrs to raise $$ for YMCA's Livestrong Program. Certified Spin Instructor Jun 2014.

Losing one you loved so much certainly does leave a big hole in your heart and it will take considerable time before you can feel you can carry on by yourself. Grief has to be worked through each in our own way and time. Cherish your memories of good times, lean on family and frieds as you need to and eventually you will find your spirits lifting. I wish you strength and courage to face each day.
