Patient Advocate (1000+ posts) Joined: Nov 2005 Posts: 1,128 | David, tell your wife that Long-Tailed Norwegian Hamsters make great pets and you can get the little ones at the pet stores from the snake food tanks for peanuts -- They are very intelligent and don't bite! The big drawback is that they only live about two and a half years, so there is some heartbreak involved, but their replacements only cost peanuts.
BTW, some people refer to them as norway rats...
