I have a suggestion for you on the struggling with letting go of the caregiver role. Don't let it go- just turn it around to "loving and caring for your husband" and ask him to do the same for you. Gearing down from being a caregiver to a loved one in crisis is really hard, but gearing up to living the rest of your life with someone you love is a joy.
