I think if they take a vein they have to also take skin from another area to cover the first area. I fortunately did not need any, but I think one of the areas they suggested besides the wrist or chest was my back. I also was offered the psossibility of cadaver skin to cover the original area. Like I said, I got lucky and they didn't need to do any of it.
