Joined: Nov 2002 Posts: 3,552 | Phoenix & Vegas are both desert climates and have almost identical weather. Phoenix can get a little hotter during the dry period - up to 118 degrees. The worst time of the year is actually during the monsoon season from around July through October. The hot season starts around May.
The Vegas advantage would be the gamblers specials for transportation and reasonable hotel expenses - as long as a major convention isn't in town at the same time like CES or something.
