Joined: Mar 2003 Posts: 1,384 Likes: 1 | Kate, Some of the above posts would have you expect to have sores or burns on the inside of your mouth for ever. This is not usually the case. It does take some weeks for complete healing (some have had to wait even longer) you should expect to feel better on a weekly basis. The change is gradual, but better you will get.

Mark, 21 Year survivor, SCC right tonsil, 3 nodes positive, one with extra-capsular spread. I never asked what stage (would have scared me anyway) Right side tonsillectomy, radical neck dissection right side, maximum radiation to both sides, no chemo, no PEG, age 40 when diagnosed.
