Hello Dee: I, too, hope you don't have to be here, but welcome anyway. As far as being scolded for smoking, HA. When I smoked, I used to joke about the people who tried to get me to quit making me so nervous I needed a cigarette. That all ended on November 5, 2007. Squamous-cell cancer was found under my right tonsil when I was having a tonsilectomy. That, plus 7 weeks of radiation with 1 day/week chemo did it for me -I would cringe at the thought of smoking. I had been smoking about a pack a day for over 30 years, and my just reward was oral cancer. But, until I got cancer, no amount of nagging would have made me quit. I hope you're a stronger person than I was.

Nov 2007 SCC on right tonsil following tonsillectomy. Was smoker, QUIT. (Stage IV T2 N2b) 7 weeks radiation one day/wk chemo (carboplatin and 5-FU). Allergic to Taxol; PEG in, lost 30 lbs. TX completed January 2008. PEG out mid- 2008. PET/CT 1/17/2011;2/3/12 NEGATIVE for cancer smile
