As a friend of mine who is a pediatric oncologist said, there are no stupid questions regarding cancer. There are a couple of ways to proceed - one is to get an emergency dental appointment, as what you are describing could be an abcessed tooth - make sure the dentist does oral cancer screenings. The other would be to see an ENT. Other may have other suggestions. Best wishes and let us know how you are doing.
