Good thing I'm not a conspiracy believer or else I would wonder why the National Cancer Institute also has a page on its web site about "Throat Cancer" which basically throws in the entire kitchen sink of oral cancers.

I clicked on the link and it lead to this
Cancers of the head and neck are further identified by the area in which they begin:

Oral cavity. The oral cavity includes the lips, the front two-thirds of the tongue, the gingiva (gums), the buccal mucosa (lining inside the cheeks and lips), the floor (bottom) of the mouth under the tongue, the hard palate (bony top of the mouth), and the small area behind the wisdom teeth.
This would indicate that BOT cancer is NOT oral cancer. Time to change the name of this site to the Head and Neck Cancer Foundation. On second thought, please, don't then I'd have to change my links. smile

BTW, the People Magazine cover article on MD said his cancer was HPV positive.
