I think at this point I've been gone since about 2013. I'm no longer MissBazinet but rather Mrs. Puetz (Pronounced Pitts). I have since married the man who was with me throughout my entire cancer diagnosis and treatment. We have 2 adorable rescue pups and we are still in Phoenix. I've continued to crusade for oral cancer advocacy and raise awareness and money for OCF.

I'm going to post in general about something that has popped up recently but wanted to say Hello! again.

Fall 2014 - HBOT due to wisdom teeth extraction post radiation

I have no idea about your story but I'm glad to hear that your life is moving along nicely post-cancer! Especially marrying the man that helped you while you had cancer. smile


Laura Age 40
Tongue lesion on left side grew and was hurting in mid-August
Dx as squamous cell carcinoma on 9.18.18
Left Neck Dissection and tongue surgery, lost a fourth of my tongue on 10.1.18, tumor had grown to a T3
Margins were clear except front section of tongue margin had three stray cancer cells that were not in the tumor
Additional surgery 10.18.18 to remove another cm near where the stray cells were found
33 radiation treatments from Nov 2018 through Jan 2019

Hi Marie, congratulations on your marriage. Those that support others through treatments are keepers. I'm not here too often anymore, it's 8 and a half years since we were diagnosed. Hope all is well with you.

Caregiver/advocate to Husband Kris age 59@ diagnosis
DX Dec '10 SCC BOT T4aN2bM0 HPV+ve.Cisplatin x3 35 IMRT.
PET 6/11 clear.
R) level 2-4 neck dissection 8/1/11 to remove residual node - necrotic with NED
Feb '12 Ca back.. 3/8/12 total glossectomy/laryngectomy/bilat neck dissection/partial pharyngectomy etc. clear margins. All nodes negative for disease. PEG in.
March 2017 - 5 years disease free. Woohoo!
