I had a tumor on my tongue removed as well as 8 Lymph nodes(non cancerous) I just started radiation last week on my neck and tongue. I have a lot of swelling that started and they are putting me on steroids to help. Anyone else run into this??

What you are going through is for everyone pretty harsh treatment. Swelling and other reactions to the radiation are common. It seldom becomes an issue that causes the treatments to be paused, it's just something you have to suffer through till you get to the end. That may sound harsh, but what they do to us is brutal by any description. Hang in there, the good news is that the swelling and any lymphedema will subside and things will ultimately get back to normal. Would have liked to post something more upbeat, but radiation is harsh and there is no simple or easy path through it. Stay strong.
