My guy just finished his first week of chemo and radiation, overall he’s doing good with only some small side effects. However the steroids they’re giving him is causing some insomnia. Any ideas on how to deal with this? Thanks!

Before taking anything, even over the counter items always check with the doc. There could be an unforeseen problem with whatever the doctor is prescribing or it could negatively affect the treatment plan.

He’s taking 3 mg every night. Not sure about increasing it right now with everything else going on. Thanks!

I could not get a full nights sleep during radiation. My Dr. suggested melatonin but it did not help.

My goal was always to get a block of 3 hours or so each night, which I managed to.

Perhaps positional changes or cooling the room might help.
